Demo Contract Governance

This artifact records the corrective governance added after text walkthroughs were incorrectly treated as demos.

Controlled Definition

Demo means an actual video or screen recording that shows the requested activity being performed in the relevant interface or environment. It must display the workflow, screens, selections, prompts, responses, actions, and visible result.

Text steps, slide-like content, screenshots, still images, written walkthroughs, or modal explanations are not demos.

Enforcement Added

Global governance updated at C:\Users\antho\.codex\AGENTS.md.
Workspace governance updated at C:\My-Gitrepo\AGENTS.md.
Project validation added at C:\My-Gitrepo\CodexTraining\tools\validate-demo-contract.mjs.
npm run check now runs the demo contract validation after the JavaScript syntax check.

Current Validation Status

Status: Contract logic validated after correction.

The First-Time User finder now separates one actual video-backed feature-orientation item from six text-guided walkthroughs. npm run check passes because only the MP4-backed desktop controls item is wired as data-first-time-demo; the text-only items are wired as data-first-time-walkthrough. This is not a claim that a startup/setup video exists.

Completion Rule

The CodexTraining project must not report walkthroughs as demos or feature-orientation media as startup/setup demos. If a first-time startup/setup demonstration is required, that MP4 still needs to be recorded and wired as startup/setup demo media.
